Museum Showcasing Caribbean Cultures
One of the most pressing initiatives CANDO plans to execute prior to July 2017 is the Caribbean History Museum.
Currently, there are no single permanent institution known globally, that serves the Caribbean Diaspora by promoting its development. As a community CANDO plans to change this through the initiation of the Caribbean History Museum and Hall of Fame!
This project will be a symbolic landmark in Tampa displaying the many fields of endeavors and will honor individuals of noteworthy achievements. It will enshrine the honorees for their noteworthy achievements with sculptures, plaques, awards and displays of notable memorabilia.
This museum will also reach out to schools and individuals in the community, as well as tourists to share the Caribbean cultures.
To execute this project, we will need plenty of help from you! We are currently seeking volunteers in the area of construction, design, paint, research, and simply a variety of hands to assist with the overall execution of this project. If interested, please send a memo in our contact us page. The first official meeting for the museum planning will be on Jan 2nd, 2017 at 6pm at the CADI Center. All are welcome to attend
Wednesday's Island Nite at Skippers Smokehouse served to be a benefit relief concert for Dominica. A free event, individuals were simply asked to bring donations to aid the cause. Members of CANDO and the Caribbean community came in support and togetherness.
